At Bay Robert's Primary, our guidance program is comprehensive and focuses on the
educational, social emotional , and and wellness needs of our students.

Our goal is to work with families to support children in their development as
compassionate, caring and capable people in school and beyond.

Guidance counselors can help with many issues including: emotional regulation, social development,
managing stress, changes in family dynamics, emotional literacy, and concerns with learning.
I am open to referrals from parents/ guardians and teachers to support students as needed.

Guidance counselors can also help support caregivers with research based strategies to use at home.

Meet the Counselor
My name is Andrea Powell and I am the Guidance Counselor at Bay Roberts Primary School.  I have worked with children and youth and their families in a variety of settings including post secondary, community agencies, schools and healthcare.  I am a parent of two children and I enjoy reading, music and spending time outdoors.  I am a lifelong learner and look forward to working with our students and their families.
